Scope:

This standard covers polymer-based crown and bridge materials for laboratory-fabricated permanent facings or anterior crowns which may or may not be attached to a metal substructure. It excludes polymer-based materials which are used by the dentist to make crowns or veneers, or for repairs at the operatory. Nor does it cover the application of those materials for stress-bearing areas of posterior teeth.
