The criteria cover certification bodies operating a product certification of conformity with profuct standards through initi al testing and possibly assessment of a factory Quality System a nd its accptance, followed by surveillance. Harmonization of testing and certification can create the environment for recipro cal recognition and facilitate trade between Member States.
